The Center for Biomedical Research at the University of North Dakota is a cutting-edge 20,433 square foot facility dedicated to the ethical care and study of animals used in scientific research. This center features 17 holding rooms, a quarantine room, four bio-hazard rooms with Class 2 Biological Safety Cabinets, six procedure rooms, a comprehensive surgical suite, and two behavioral study suites. It is equipped with a 100 percent backup power system to ensure continuous operation. The facility maintains stringent control over environmental conditions, with temperature and humidity meticulously regulated. The Center is accredited by AAALAC International, underscoring its commitment to the humane treatment of animals in science.
